How to Avoid the Pitfalls of Spiritual and Psychic Burnout

reaching for help out of water

Have you ever heard of a spiritual or psychic burnout?

Typically, burnout is considered a state of physical or emotional exhaustion from just doing too much.

And when it comes to spiritual work, an example of this is when you sign up for too many workshops or you practice on top of your normal schedule of readings, that if there is not an even exchange of compensation, or you’re not receiving for what you're putting out, burnout shows up quickly.

Burnout could also creep in when you get too busy that you skip the self-care necessary to keep your chakras balanced and your physical body grounded.

If you want to be a clear channel for others and you want to be able to give 100% to all your clients, then it's more important than ever, to keep yourself as far away from burnout as you possibly can.

How to Protect Yourself From Spiritual Burnout

  • Incorporate self care in all three areas - body, mind, and soul - to ensure that your life is balanced. Exercise. Eat well. Check with your doctor and get the necessary nutrient supplementation you need to keep your energy levels so you will feel your best overall.

  • Create a schedule that will allow you to have balance. Have a structure in your business where you schedule times for the different things you need to do accordingly. Take a break. For example, take a week off from your readings every three weeks to re-energize.

  • Keep yourself grounded, whether that’s in the form of Reiki healing, working with crystals, or meditation.

  • Always try to learn something new each time, whether via podcasts, books, and/or courses.

  • Set boundaries. You don't have to take readings all over the place and read every day. There are no emergency exceptions. This allows you to protect your energy and be able to be exactly where you need to be for those that have scheduled with you.

Identify what you need to do in order to take care of your emotional needs, your physical needs, as well as your spirituality. Just remember that what is best for you may be completely different than what's best for others.
